The Brown Drake is an early season hatch, normally seen in the at the end of May up to the second or third week of June, depending on the weather. The Brown Drake is a large fly known to hatch almost any time of the day, but primarily in the evening. The spinner fall occurs just before dusk while the emergence will occur after dark. This hatch is only found on Silver Creek from the north side of Highway 20 downstream to the Picabo Store.
